Nest II – Organic Porcelain Sculpture

Nest II is a modular porcelain sculpture composed of five individual forms that come together as a single installation. Each element consists of a textured base cradling a smooth, removable sphere, creating a dialogue between softness and solidity, permanence and change.

Although made entirely of porcelain, the rounded forms evoke the appearance of soft cushions gently supporting delicate objects. This visual contradiction lies at the heart of the piece: a material known for its hardness is transformed into forms that suggest comfort, balance and quiet tension.

The textured bases are finished in different colours, while each sphere is individually decorated using the inlay technique. Hundreds of hand-carved lines are carefully filled with contrasting coloured porcelain before being refined into a continuous pattern that wraps around the entire surface.

The five elements may be displayed together or rearranged into different compositions, allowing the sculpture to evolve according to the surrounding space while remaining a unified work.

Each sculpture is entirely handmade and one of a kind.
