Nest I – Organic Shape Porcelain Sculpture

Nest I is a one-of-a-kind porcelain sculpture exploring the relationship between softness and solidity, texture and precision.

The sculpture is composed of two independent elements. A textured porcelain base gently cradles a removable sphere, creating the illusion of a soft cushion despite the strength and permanence of high-fired porcelain.

The dark base features a rough, stone-like surface that contrasts with the perfectly smooth sphere resting above. Entirely covered with a hand-carved black and white porcelain inlay pattern, the sphere reveals countless individual marks that wrap seamlessly around its surface, transforming decoration into texture and rhythm.

Inspired by natural forms, protective structures and the quiet balance found in nature, Nest I invites the viewer to experience porcelain beyond its traditional perception—hard yet visually soft, precise yet organic.

Part of the Organic Shape collection, this sculpture investigates the dialogue between material, touch and visual perception.

Entirely handmade, each sculpture is unique.
