Hand-Thrown Porcelain Sculpture with Black Textured Surface and Red Inlay

This one-of-a-kind porcelain sculpture explores contrast through form, surface, and material. Wheel-thrown and carefully refined by hand, the piece appears visually divided into two distinct yet harmonious halves.

One side features a deep black, textured surface created through sprayed porcelain, resulting in a raw, tactile finish. The other side is smooth and meticulously sanded, decorated with red and black porcelain inlay. Each dot is carved into the surface and filled with colored porcelain, becoming fully integrated into the body of the sculpture — never painted, never glazed.

A small protruding element emerges from the smooth side, decorated with fine linear inlay patterns that echo marine or organic references. The overall form suggests something natural and alive — reminiscent of a sea organism, a shell, or a quietly pulsing biological presence.

The surface is entirely unglazed. The contrast between rough and polished porcelain enhances both the visual depth and the sensory experience, inviting touch as much as contemplation.

A contemporary ceramic sculpture that balances material honesty, rhythm, and organic abstraction.
